INTRODUCTORY PROGRAM: MUSTANGS LACROSSE CLUB

This spring we’re launching a new program for O. Henry middle school students. Our goal is to provide these students with an affordable and convenient option to learn the game of lacrosse and with their schoolmates. All players will learn the foundational skills/concepts of lacrosse and will have the opportunity to participate in fast paced gameplay.

Players will receive a stick with their registration and no other equipment is required. Our sessions will consist of sticks only and we’ll be using tennis balls during drills/gameplay.

PRACTICE STRUCTURE:

Each session will be broken up into 3 segments: skills, drills, and gameplay. Players will learn the foundational skills of the game, concepts/strategies, and will have the opportunity to have free play at the end of each practice for players to start incorporating into their game.

GAME STRUCTURE:

Teams will be playing 3v3 lacrosse - Using smaller goals and tennis balls (and without protective equipment needed), this form of the game is fast, fun and keeps all players engaged. It encourages players to utilize their creativity and be decision makers.

REGISTRATION:

To successfully register you must become a US Lacrosse member (link below) and register for the Mustangs Lacrosse Club program (button below). Your US Lacrosse membership will last a year and will be required for any AYL programs.
